In the heart of the 18th arrondissement, one of the capital’s greatest culinary surprises is hidden behind the façade of a bakery. At B.O.U.L.O.M., at 181 rue Ordener, you’ll find pastries, viennoiseries and good bread, but above all an all-you-can-eat buffet in the back room, worthy of a fine gourmet restaurant. Convivial, creative and above all ultra-gourmet, this address is a must in the north of Paris.
In Paris, an all-you-can-eat gastro buffet behind a bakery
If there’s one place that illustrates the adage “don’t be fooled by appearances”, it’s B.O.U.L.O.M. Behind this “bakery where you eat” is Julien Duboué, a chef from the Landes region of France who has worked with Top Chef and Alain Dutournier. His idea? To create a generous, accessible and festive place, where you can eat like in a gastro, but in all-you-can-eat buffet mode.
Before being a restaurant, B.O.U.L.O.M was a traditional bakery. In this slightly retro, village-style shop, you’ll find excellent bread. Made with organic wheat flour, the sourdough loaves, pains de campagne and village baguettes are soft and crusty, just the way we like them. In the window, you’ll also find a good selection of mouth-watering viennoiseries.
But if B.O.U.L.O.M is packed every day, it’s also and above all for its incredible all-you-can-eat buffet. Here, every dish is prepared on the spot, with fresh, seasonal produce, and often with a nod to the chef’s roots. For €36 per person for lunch (€48 for dinner), you can indulge in unlimited exceptional dishes such as beef ribs, chicken basquaise, hake à l’escabèche, eggs mimosas or seafood, to name just a few of the many dishes available. Sweet tooths won’t be left out in the dessert department, with crêpes Suzette, mousse or chocolate, for example, or a pièce montée with choux.
In short, a gourmet and refined table that perfectly matches the convivial spirit of the buffet. A not-to-be-missed spot for uncompromisingly good eating.
