It’s no scoop that theAtelier des Lumières is our favorite HQ when it comes to a cultural bubble. After exploring space with Tom Hanks (Destination Lune: an immersive journey with Tom Hanks), we unveil the brand-new journey that’s already rocking the 11ᵉ arrondissement: a spectacular plunge into Prehistory guided by the voice of Gérard Lanvin and featuring images from the hit series Planète Préhistorique broadcast on Apple TV. And to add even more emotion: a soundtrack by Hans Zimmer , among others!

Prehistoric Planet: when dinosaurs invade the Atelier des Lumières
Imagine the walls and floor of the Atelier des Lumières transformed into a lush jungle inhabited by an impressive array of fauna. The stars of the Jurassic , from pterosaurs to marine reptiles like mosasaurs, agile velociraptors, the terrible Tyrannosaurus Rex or the colossal Dreadnoughtus (one of the largest giant dinosaurs) come to life in real size, before our astonished eyes, and the mysteries of the fossils are revealed. All thanks to the technology that has made Atelier des Lumières exhibitions such a success.
The old foundry on rue Saint-Maur vibrates to the rhythm of the footsteps of vanished giants. More than just a projection, it’s a documentary with 360° images that give the dinosaurs their monumental dimension. We’re talking about striking scenes of life captured and amplified here by 59 Studio, in collaboration with Mike Gunton , the series’ Executive Producer and Creative Director of BBC Studios’ Natural History division.
Put your ear to the ground! To add a touch of depth to this journey through time, the narration is provided by the penetrating voice of Gérard Lanvin, who guides us through the millions of years of the dinosaur era. The original soundtrack? It is signed by renowned film music composers such as Hans Zimmer, Anže Rozman and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music. A detail that makes all the difference!
