Are you a fan of urbex and strange (and slightly creepy) stories? Welcome to Joachim Kroll Manor. A fantastic place, just outside Paris, abandoned for many years... Just a few days before Halloween, we take you on a tour of this unique place, where time seems to have stood still. Why has such a place been deserted? Many rumors abound. But one thing’s for sure: this place is a fantastic open-air playground for lovers ofurban exploration.
An abandoned mansion on the outskirts of Paris
Abandoned for over 50 years, this sublime manor house will not leave you indifferent. Known as the Manoir Colimaçon, or Joachim Kroll Manor, it blends two styles:Art Nouveau and Victorian. Situated in the middle of fields, where sheep graze, you’ll have the impression of being truly cut off from the world… If your eyesight is good, you’ll be able to admire the many floral details adorning its windows. Tinted green, blue and gold, it’s easy to imagine the beauty of the place when it was inhabited.

This 30-room mansion belonged to a wealthy Iranian family in 1998. Since then, however, it has been deserted… to the extent that period furniture, mirrors and a few knick-knacks can still be found decorating it. Appreciated for its many ornaments, old tapestries and Timburtonesque allure, the manor house is also known for its immense spiral staircase. The backbone of the building, it serves every floor up to its tower, and is often photographed by Urbex enthusiasts from all angles…

Imbued with mystery, the Manoir Joachim Kroll is also the source of many rumors, some of them quite sordid… Some claim that it witnessed two terrifying murders: a baby devoured by cats and an old lady murdered with a knife through the skull… Could this house be haunted? With its look straight out of a horror movie, you’d think so! In any case, we’re not going to risk setting foot in it!

Although abandoned to this day, the manor house is privately owned. Access is strictly forbidden and could even be dangerous, given the dilapidated state of the premises…
